We'd love you to join us at Christ Church Students' Union

Christ Church Students’ Union (CCSU) is a registered charity, the representative body for the 16,000 students of Canterbury Christ Church University, providing a voice for students to the University and the local community. We are now seeking two new Community Trustees to join our Board of Trustees to strengthen our governance and ensure our sustainability.

The Students’ Union provides wide-ranging services for its members across Kent.  CCSU is on an exciting journey, having moved into the new St.George’s Centre building in 2012, it has expanded its portfolio of activities considerably.  It runs a wide range of services across all of the University’s campuses, with 100+ clubs and societies with around 1600 members, award winning student media outlets, welfare and advice services, an exciting entertainment programme culminating in our annual Summer Ball, and a bar and coffee shop.

The aim is for the two trustees to between them, bring strong professional experience, particularly in the fields of financial management, law and marketing communications and preferably knowledge of membership organisations and experience of governance in not-for-profit organisations. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a firm grasp of good governance, exhibit a commitment to the Seven Principles of Public Life, and to be leaders on equality of opportunity.

For an initial conversation about this opportunity, please contact the Managing Director Ben.MacPhee@ccsu.co.uk or 01227 922109.
