Come and join us at the University of Gloucestershire Students’ Union

The University of Gloucestershire Students’ Union (UGSU) is the primary organisation representing the interests of the University of Gloucestershire’s 10,000 students to the institution and beyond.  Our mission is to support every student to have a life enhancing student experience at the University of Gloucestershire

The Students’ Union is an organisation for students, led by students. With 4 Full-Time Officers, 17 members of staff and a team of student staff, the Union already punches above its weight in terms of the impact it is able to make with nearly 4000 of our members actively engaged with us, but we are ambitious to develop further. As well as providing representation, advice and support for students, the Union also provides a number of opportunities, including volunteering, the Job Shop, over 50 societies and 40 different sports clubs.

You will be joining an established trustee board made up of 4 full time officers, 5 student trustees and 4 external trustees.  The new trustee would have a financial background and would chair the audit and risk sub-committee, as well as be an active member of our current board that meets 5 times per year.  You would add expertise and skills to help achieve our aims of being a best practice board within the students’ union sector, and help to improve our students’ union’s effectiveness in supporting every student to have a life-enhancing student experience at Gloucestershire.  All trustees receive support and training to help them be impactful in their role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic students’ union and develop your knowledge and skills. For more information please contact Tom Newman Chief Executive tnewman@glos.ac.uk
