Would you like to be part of an organisation striving to be the outstanding organisation in the UK for delivering a positive student experience? The University of Salford Students’ Union represents and provides services for a diverse body of over 20,000 students. We support students beyond their degree helping them to enjoy their time at University and build their skills and experience. We provide services such as representation, campaigning, activities, sport, events and advice as well as a food and bar outlet.

We are ambitious, and we want to build on our 70-year history to become an even stronger force for positive change for University of Salford students and wider society. The last three years have seen us develop a culture based on strong values – we pride ourselves in being student-centric.

As an organisation, we are in an exciting period of change, about to enter a new strategic planning cycle and currently in the process of recruiting a new Chief Executive.  USSU is a great place to be involved in, with an incredible and supportive staff team.

We are looking for a committed individual to join us, with a strong background in financial management and accountancy, to fulfil a vacancy on our Trustee Board and support our elected officers, student trustees and senior managers to steer the work of the Union. This is a voluntary role and we want people who are dynamic and driven to help us to succeed.

We welcome all applicants for all of our vacancies who possess the relevant skills & expertise, however, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people, disabled people and women are currently under-represented on our board, we particularly welcome applications from these areas.

We’re online, look around the Uni or find us at the Charity Commission.
