Come work with us at Goldsmiths SU

We'd love if you can join what we're doing at Goldsmiths.

We're at our best when we're enabling students. We help out students that get into trouble, organise opportunities to network and play sport, support students to shape institutional change and work with under-involved groups

There are over 9,000 students at Goldsmiths, studying courses such as Music, Art, English, Computing, Psychology, Education and Media. A third of our members are postgraduates and 20% are from outside of Europe.

We've undergone a lot of change over the last couple of years, rapidly growing in size, confidence and the activities we do. Our new Chief Executive started in August 2016 and we have a completely new management team.

The majority of our funding comes in the form of a block grant from Goldsmiths College, but we also run a bar, venue, cafe, shop and nursery to help generate additional funds to spend on students.

Our Board has four elected sabbatical officers, four elected students and up to four appointed co-opted trustees.

We are particularly interested in trustees with expertise in the following areas

  • Financial management and performance
  • Governance and decision making
  • Community development

We tend to have about 6 meetings a year; currently scheduled for 5.30pm on weekdays for 2017/18. Depending on your skills set and interests, we might ask you to attend the occasional subcommittee too. Of course we'll cover your travel costs to meetings.

You can find out more about us here or on the Charity Commission's website here.
