Come join us at Glyndwr Students' Union

Wrexham Glyndwr Students’ Union is a new students’ union established on 1st August 2016, prior to this we were a Guild and department of the University. We are now an independent charity (1168132) and company limited by guarantee (10111959) and are going from strength as an organisation. This will be a very exciting time to join our board as we have just released our first Strategic Plan, had a successful financial first year of operation and have just won the NUS Wales 2018 HE Students’ Union of the Year award!!

Our Students’ Union represents circa. 5000 students at Wrexham Glyndwr University across four campuses. The main campus being the Wrexham Campus with the other three small campuses in Northop, London (Kingston) and St Asaph. The Students’ Union has its own building at the Wrexham Campus which consists of a reception area, staff offices, meeting room and a large ‘Student Lounge’ which is an informal social space for students to use during the day and occasionally transforms into the Lazy Lion Pop Up Bar for events.

As of March 2018 we are a staff team of 7, including the CEO who reports to the Board of Trustees and we have 2 annually elected sabbatical officers; President and Vice President.

We have one vacancy on our Board of Trustees for a lay trustee. Whilst we welcome applications from individuals from any sector, we would be particularly interested in hearing from individuals with a HR background.

Our Board of Trustees meets 4-5 times per year at our Wrexham campus. Meetings are during the day though the actual time and days are flexible to meet the needs of the Board.

We're online, the University is here and we're also a registered charity.
